Are you in Favor of Digg Expanding?

For those of you who aren't familiar with Digg, heres a quick 'description' on what the site is about. "Digg is a technology news website that combines social bookmarking, blogging, RSS, and non-hierarchical editorial control. With digg, users submit stories for review, but rather than allow an editor to decide which stories go on the homepage, the users do."

Since Digg is a Technology news site, the rumor of them 'branching out' and expanding their coverage to include possible entertainment, sports, business, political, and misc other news topics, is either going to encourage more users to participate in this community or dissuade its current users from using Digg. Some people believe that since Digg is focused on one market alone, this is why they are so popular in their field. Some loyal Digg users believe that expansion is pointless and will turn Digg into another run-of-the-mill website. While other users see it as a long much overdue needed growth.

Constantly there are stories submitted to Digg simply due to its entertaining, cool or informative news nature, but these stories are frowned upon and given bad comments or reviews from hard core dedicated Digg users; while others users leave comments such as "Not Tech related but cool article nonetheless", so users can appreciate information but still give it a thumbs down since its not fitting the Tech theme. So with that said, how do you feel?

Are you in Favor of Digg Expanding?
