BlogHer Conference '06

If you haven't heard of "BlogHer" let me give you a quick run down on who they are . BlogHer is an online community built to guide women bloggers, their main goal is to "create opportunities for women bloggers to pursue exposure, education and community."

Note:BlogHer does not want to be viewed as service for women bloggers, they are trying to implement the idea of "community" for women bloggers to find help amongst peers, other women bloggers who are in the same field, work together, help achieve their goals.

With that said what is their conference about? What is the Goal?!

Well, this years theme is:'How is your blog changing your world?'
This conference hopes to tackle on the question of what difference is your blog making in lives, communities, business or the world around you. To help and teach bloggers how to go about better utilizing their blogs, the conference will have workshops that will cover topics such as: basics of blogging, primping your blog with widgets, counters, mash-ups etc... starting community based blog sites, podcasting, digital photography and much more!

Keynote Speakers include:
  • Grace Davis - Hurricane Katrina Direct Relief founder and Professional Blogger
  • Arianna Huffington - Huffington Post Founder and Author
  • Caroline Little - WashingtonPost.com/Newsweek Interactive CEO and Publisher
  • Mena Trott - SixApart Founder and President

BlogHer Conference will be taking place on:

July 28th and 29th 2006

Hyatt San Jose in San Jose, CA.

Approximately 20% of the attendees were men last year and they too were amongst the first to volunteer in the 2005 Conference.
